Who I am
I was raised in Rome, Maine, population 800, where my parents and siblings still reside. I was the first in my family to graduate from college, and did so in 1996 with a B.S. from Rivier College in Nashua, New Hampshire. I started with Flegal Law Office, P.A. in 1996, where I worked as a paralegal and attended law school at night. I earned my J.D. from New England School of Law in Boston, MA in 2002. My husband, Jeffrey, is a probation/parole officer for the State of New Hampshire. We joke that we leave the criminal work up to him as I've never been interested in practicing criminal law. We are blessed with 2 beautiful daughters, Alexa who assisted at the office for the first year and a half of her life and who will attend kindergarten in the fall; and Alana who will be 2 in May and keeps everyone on their toes. We also have Sable, who is by far the most high maintenance Beagle known to man.
What I do
I am primarily a commercial real estate attorney. I represent lenders, developers, borrowers, buyers and sellers, in a variety of transactions, including the buying, selling, leasing, and mortgaging of property. I had the good fortune of spending a lot of quality time in the registry of deeds during my time as a paralegal. That experience helps me understand the intricacies of real estate titles. Not too many real estate lawyers can match my hands-on experience in the registry of deeds. I have a solid working knowledge of New Hampshire corporate law, and am working to develop a practice in estate planning, which seems to fit well with the rest of my practice. I have focused on these aspects of the law because I enjoy working with people, helping them put deals together, and developing relationships which I hope will be long term. I strive to complete each task efficiently and always do my best to make every closing a pleasant experience.
What I've done
I am a member of the American Bar Association, the New Hampshire Bar Association, the Greater Nashua Bar Association, and the Women's Bar Association. I am also a 2005 graduate of Leadership Greater Nashua, and have served on the board of directors of the Humane Society of Greater Nashua and the Greater Nashua Child Care Centers, Inc.
What else I do
First and foremost, I am a mother and wife. I enjoy spending time with my family, whether it is scrapbooking with Alexa, playing in the yard with Alana, or heading to Fenway Park with Jeffrey. I also enjoy catching up with other family and friends, and look forward to "girls" days with old college roommates every couple of months. I love the warmer weather, and dread the winter months, as my one and only skiing experience nearly lead to death. Go Sox!
